Post Processing Using Lightroom

Location

tbd

Schedule

Next class will be scheduled in the Fall of 2017.

Overview

So you have taken a lot of pictures and have them uploaded to your computer, but the finished images do not match what you remember of the scene.  Images from digital cameras are typically flat and do not fully show what the photographer witnessed when capturing the image.  With proper post-processing the photographer is able to project his/her vision for the image.

All classes will be lecture/discussion/demonstration, image editing assignments (i.e. homework) as well as class critique of edited images.  It is not necessary to bring your computer to the classes.

Contents

Class 1 – Course purpose & what makes a good image?
Class 2 – Basic image editing tools
Class 3 – More advanced Lightroom tools such as radial & graduated filters, adjustment brush, Lens Correction and Effects
Class 4 – Masking techniques in Photoshop & various plugins
Class 5 – Going beyond the basics with plugins from NIK, Topaz & OnOne
Class 6 – Sharing your images

Note:  Image processing assignments will be made in many of the classes with group critiques during the following class.

Testimonials

Howard Sundwall: Bob Lott is an expert in all the post-processing tools and techniques, and freely shares that expertise in this course.  I strongly recommend it to anyone interested in taking his or her photography to the next level.  It will make you a better photographer.

Diane Petrone: I learned so much in Bob Lott’s Post-Processing class. He is smart and knowledgeable; and the course was a lot if fun!   Bob’s class took my photography to a new level!  Thanks so much Bob. I really enjoyed the class. Hope to see you soon at the camera club.

Paula Miller:  This is my second class with Bob Lott.  I took his HDR and Lightroom class.  I love the fact that questions are encouraged and he will find the answer if he is not sure.  He gives you great detailed notes to follow and I refer to them all the time.  Bob’s classes are relaxed and I would take another class of his in a heartbeat.
